If you want for your RC car to go faster during a race or simply during an afternoon practice, the best and very economical answer to that would be to use shims. What are shims anyway? A shim is a thin metal or a wedge which can also be made of wood. It is placed in between your RC parts to help the RC car maintain its level just in case it goes over rough roads, large stones and the like. An RC car with shims reduces sloppiness while it runs.

The area where you can put a shim is in between the rear hub and axle pin since there is an obvious gap between the two materials. You have to first disassemble the parts starting from the rear hub and then the axle pin. Then, assemble again the rear hub but this time, place the shim next (the shim could be plastic made, wood or metal) followed by the bearing.

Take note that the shim you will be putting should match the same dimension of the ball bearing to ensure that it will work properly. What the shim does is it minimizes the gap in between the axle pin and the bearing. This should do the trick in making your RC car run faster.

There is one downside to shimming though. If there is too much shim, it’s possible for the tires of your car to bind. True that it won’t slop any longer but binding then is going to be your next problem. So make sure that you don’t use too much shim on your bearings.

Start by knowing what is available at your destination. Is there a rental shop? How much are the rental fees for skis, boots, and poles. If it is reasonable, and you don’t mind skiing with rented equipment, this is a viable option – and it makes packing and traveling much easier.

If you don’t care for rented equipment, there is another option. Find out if there are any ski shops in the area. There usually are. Get prices on skis, poles, and boots, and then ask if they buy used equipment. If they don’t, ask if there is anyone near by that does purchase used equipment. Call that place to get an estimate on how much you could get for barely used ski equipment. Figure the difference in the money you will spend on the ski equipment, and the money you will get for the used equipment when you are finished with it. If it isn’t much more than what it would cost you to rent the equipment, go for it!

Ski suits, ski jackets, and sweaters can be very bulky, and hard to pack. These items will take up a lot of room in your suitcase, and leave less room for other clothing and essentials. If you are trying to pack for two week ski vacations, it will be impossible to fit everything you need into one suitcase.

There is a way to solve this. Call the lodge or resort where you will be staying. Tell them that you need to ship a package, for yourself, to them, and that you need that package to be there when you arrive. Ask them if they will hold it for you at the desk. In most cases, they will. Next, get a box, put all of your ski suits, your ski jacket, and any other bulky items in the box, and ship it to yourself, in care of the lodge or resort. Shipping can be overnight, two day, or three day depending on how far it must travel. Depending on how much the box weighs, you will usually pay less than what you would pay an airline for extra baggage!

A pearl is a smooth and lustrous round structure formed naturally inside the shell of an oyster or a clam and is a most valued and precious jewel. It is formed when an irritant such as a grain of sand or tiny fish gets trapped in the internal tissues of a mollusks shell. To protect itself from this irritant, the mollusk releases nacre, a substance that sticks to the irritant and then forms a hard and smooth layer around the irritant. They are formed in a similar way, except the irritant is introduced into the mollusk by man and then the rest of the process of releasing nacre is natural. Most of the pearls that come into the market are cultured pearls these days and are no different than natural pearls. They are much cheaper than natural pearls because they are cultivated in lots and also there is no expense involved in searching for the natural pearls.

Pearls come in different colors, sizes, and shapes, in fact, no two pearls are alike. The color of the pearl is determined by the color of the nacre released, which can range anywhere from white to black.

The quality of a pearl is determined by its luster and its shine. Good quality pearls have high luster and reflect light from all angles. High quality pearls are hard to find but when found are considerably more expensive than others.

When purchasing pearls, look for luster and ensure there are no bumps or discolored. A good pearl feels smooth and even to touch. The larger the size, the more expensive it is.

The next sets of roses that are worth a mention are the Old Garden Roses. These are the roses that had been classified before 1867. These include the mosses and the gallicas.
